"As a photographer I have always been fascinated by what happens out there:
The foreign, the unknown. Beauty does not matter; what interests me has to appeal to my eye and inspire me, not only in terms of the aesthetics of a particular image, but also its composition. I have travelled a lot all my life. I had to move around a lot, especially as I was a refugee child and therefore had many homes. To this day, I am not particularly attached to any one place and tend to be a wanderer. This gives me the objectivity I need to find a good subject and the new image I am looking for. In my photography I often try to capture moments, instances that are only significant because I happened to be the observer, a passenger lucky enough to press the shutter at the right moment".
